Definition
SPP opposes coercive political, economic or military domination by any external power.
Core principles
- The same sovereignty standard applies regardless of which country or bloc is involved.
- International cooperation should respect reciprocity, law and the right of peoples to determine their affairs.
- Kenya should not exchange one dependency for another.
Meaning for public policy
Anti-imperialism is therefore a principle of strategic independence rather than hostility toward any nationality. Kenya can maintain broad partnerships while rejecting coercive subordination.
Institutional test
The principle should be applied consistently to SPP itself. Party organisation, candidate selection, finance and leadership conduct should reflect the same standard expected of government.
