OUR IDEOLOGY

Knowledge Sovereignty

A sovereign society must be capable of producing knowledge about itself and the world.

Definition

A sovereign society must be capable of producing knowledge about itself and the world.

Core principles

  • Strong universities and research institutions.
  • Serious study of Kenyan and African history, languages and thought.
  • Open engagement with global science and scholarship.

Meaning for public policy

Knowledge sovereignty does not reject foreign knowledge. It rejects permanent intellectual dependency by building institutions able to research, test, teach and innovate independently.

Institutional test

The principle should be applied consistently to SPP itself. Party organisation, candidate selection, finance and leadership conduct should reflect the same standard expected of government.
